I have a motorcycle and I want to learn how to knee drag but cant afford to go out and buy some knee dragging pants or a suit so would knee pads work that are made out of hard plastic on the outside and have velcroe straps, or would they simply just rip off?

  1. They're particularly well-suited for cheap knees.

  2. Most likely come flying right off, or at the very least spin around on contact and expose the knee.   Even velcro'd really tight, your body weight and the forces in play is just not worth the risk.

If you are intent on dragging your knee, seriously just save some money somehow and get the right gear.  Ebay it if anything else, just get it.

And btw, racers drag knee as a judge of the lean angle, not to slow us down or nothing.  You can drag knee at relatively low speed in a parking lot going in progressively tighter circles.  Just make sure it clean and free of debris that can kick out your tires.  Alot safer then smoking around cloverleafs and ejecting yourself into the woodline till you get the hang of it.   Good luck.
