i already have 6 ducks and they live in a fenced in area and have a small pond/pool to swim in.can i put a chicken in there and have them all get along.will the chicken fall in the pool and die?and i have one more question,im a vegan becuase i think its unfair how animals are treated to get eggs, milk from them, but when i have my chicken i know she will be healthy and happy,so is it ok to eat the eggs because, the chicken is in good care, and is not forced to lay the eggs?

  1. I have about 7 ducks and 15 chickens living together in the fenced in yard and even living in the same cage at night. (It is a very large cage, if we dont put them in there they will get eaten by ratcoons. chickens cant see in the dark.) They get along perfectly fine.

We also have a little pond/pool in the backyard. I see the chickens occationally drink from the pond and they never fall in. Once my little sister (when she was a toddler) was holding a chicken and threw her in the pond! I tryed to stop her but i was too late. No worries though, the chicken just flapped its wings until it got out. (which took about 3 seconds lol) But our chickens have more water sources available also.

About eating the chicken eggs. Since you have no rooster, the chicken eggs stand a 0% chance of becoming a baby chick. Once she lays it, which is inevitable, it will never become a baby. Your chicken will lay eggs according to her own personal time schedule and usually one every day. She will stop laying during certain seasons.

I dont know much about vegans but I know that you will not be doing any harm to the not existant chick or the chicken.

    hope this helps :)
