Can chicken brothers and sisters breed?

if theres 2 chickens brother and sister, can they mate? because some animal can?

Yes, They can. But they shouldnt inbreed a lot. Thats not good. Its not going to hurt but still you should get a few hens that arnt related and mix in with them.

They can and do. Many pedigree dogs are inbred. In a recent documentary, a breeder admitted breeding a dog with its grand-daughter, but some have no qualms putting together siblings or father and daughter.

They can, but that's nasty. But beware, sometimes inbreeding can cause deformities.

Yes it's called in breeding and is actually a method used

to breed good strains of chickens.

But allot of the time you get throw backs. .  diseases and defects.

But then again sometimes you don't

It depends on the strain and genetics

so yes you can but i wouldn't recommend it if you want good quality birds.

Any animal that 'Inbreeds' will present a variety of 'offspring' that will have a variety of 'defects' later in life!

We take in a number of Animals from 'dubious' backgrounds, and we have to deal with  the 'so called 'defects'!

They usually suffer from problems like having too many toes...to too many who suffer far more serious deformities.

We have a number of animals which are the result of in-breeding, and most of them will sadly remain here for their lifespan.

they can and frequently do, somehow animals just don't get the taboo about incest. It will increase the chance of 2 animals carrying the genes for an abnormality passing it on to their offspring but breeders often use line breeding to strengthen certain characteristics.
