Can chickens swim and shoud you wash them?

We had some chickens on the farm where I grew up.  Yes, they can swim, but not very well, and they didn't want to.  I guess if you had one as a pet you could wash it.

Yes, you should. I reccomend using dried raspberries sautéed and mixed with fresh spring water. It will bring out the color in their feathers. You should also give them plenty of steak.

yes chickens can  probly swim but not unless they have to and yea  you can certainly give them baths, i show chickens and always wash them before a show so they are nice and clean! you can use a mild soap but make sure you rinse all the soap out or the feathers will chap! good luck!!! ~:>

I dunk mine in a bucket of lice treatment (up to just before thier beak) and they don't seem to mind.

Chickens dont really want to swim.They dont mind the ocasional dunk in the bucket for the lice/flea treatment(be careful not to get it in the face).But to actually get in the water and swim I have never seen one that wanted to.
