Yes, but if you think broken hymen=not a virgin, it isn't always the case. A hymen can break from doing anything, like riding a bicycle.

Of course they can check to make sure the hymen is still intact.  There will definitely be questions raised when asking for this to be done.  Prepare yourself for what could possibly come from asking the dr to check.  Especially if your talking about a young child here.
