Question:

Can child services take a kid away if he or she is vegan?

like a LITTLE kid, 1 or 2? as long as the kid is healthy, not starving and the parents aren't abusive they can't take him or her away, right?

not asking for opinions on raising vegan kids, cause i ain't listening! just asking for an answer to this question.

As long as the child is not malnourished they won't.  Simply being a vegan is not a crime.  You should, however, consult with the child's pediatrician to determine what sorts of foods the child should be eating to ensure a proper diet while still remaining vegan.  Little ones need different levels of proteins and fats than adults do, if you're unsure you should talk to the child's doctor.  


  2. A child would not be removed from the home solely because the family was vegan or vegetarian.  If the child was malnourished or something, then yes-but vegan/vegetarian diets do not equate to malnourishment.

    Most parents that are vegan/vegetarians are well educated about it, and I assume that they would consult with the child's pediatrician.  This would show an educated choice, and not neglect.
