Can cities tax or ban commodities from certain areas (i.e.-Rain Forest)?

  1. I don't believe it would happen at that level of government.  Municipal governments are not responsible for international trade; that would be a Federal responsibility.


  2. i suppose they could but how does one determine if this particular soybean was grown on slashburned rainforest land as opposed to being grown in cultivated ground?
