I went into an alcohol store to buy an energy drink and the clerk refused to sell it to me because I didnt have ID on me. Now at the time I was SURE that what she was doing was wrong, but I just gave up and moved on. I would just like to know for next time, just in case. Thanks :)

  1. Shops can refuse service to anyone they want - they don't even have to have a very good reason.

If the store clerk have been told to demand ID from anyone, no matter what they're buying, he's allowed to refuse you service if you refuse to produce an ID .. unfortunate, but true.
