Can cockatiel birds talk?

Yes, they can talk and mimic whistling ,but not as well as other larger birds. It is also true that the males are the one capable of doing this more so than the females.

They can learn to talk. They take lots of time and patience. The males talk better than females.  They all like to learn to whistle tunes. Whistling is their favorite.

yes they can but it seems to me that the males have much more of a chance at talking  then females.and its not true that only the males can talk the females can but rarley

Yes, my male can say over 15 phrases with the longest phrase being 6 words long!  He can even associate the word with the meaning of them, for example he asks for kisses and leans in and kisses me, he says "step up" will lift his leg and then say "good boy" etc...

Females can learn also, but it's rare, and not ALL males will talk.  They need lots of work, repetition, and the interest in doing it.

They can maybe say a few words but not many.  They sing tunes better than they talk.
