Can cockroaches follow you?

If I am traveling (say Japan) and I stay in a place with cockroaches. Could they possibly jump in my suitcase and follow me home to America????

YES, although I am sure that they are not moving to America on purpose. Be VERY VERY CAREFUL not to bring any home with you. Check your suitcase and shake everything out before you pack it.  Try packing some bay leaves, they are supposed to stay away from them. If you even bring ONE home, you may infest your entire house.

if you step on one, you could transfer eggs from the roach to your shoe and thus into your suitcase.  You could easily bring one home with you.
