  1. Yes, if u dont take care of the lenses

  2. Well now, isn't that just the silliest thing.

As if they would use the salmonella bacteria to make the color adhere to lenses....

The closest salmonella got to contacts is when the ReNu solution was contaminated in 2006.

If you happen to be handling food that is contaminated, then don't wash your hands before inserting or removing your contacs, then your contacts will absorb it.

But it is certainly not put there by any manufacturer.

Salmonella causes quite a serious sickness.

  3. well to be honest some does have salmonelaa

but not allll........ so it depence which one.....

  4. Contacts, when well cared for, pose very little risk to one's eyesight. Doctors wouldn't prescribe them like candy with very little follow up if they weren't more or less safe.

    Edited for below answerer's genius:

Contacts, even plano coloured contacts, are all PRESCRIPTION DEVICES subject to the exact same regulation and restrictions.

They require an ophthalmologists or optometrists prescription, no older than a year.

    Know your facts.

  5. Well, I think that she needs to listen to her DOCTOR and not the "kids" at school. It is amazing how many arm chair eye doctors we have out there that are Extremely mis informed.

  6. FIRST OF ALL...WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT PRESCRIPTION CONTACTS HERE...

WE'RE TALKING ABOUT COLORED CONTACTS....and frankly no one can comment wisely, except an Optometrist or Opthomologist--- or another medical provider.

I'd worry more about eColi...and the MRSA virus.  eeekkkkk!

Another problem is that they may not "fit" her eye (she'd never know).and they will end up 'cutting' the eye's natural lens.  Contacts should always be 'fitted' by her optomotrist...and should never be used (again & again) by kids (for vanity purposes...for ANY purpose!).

Where are your parents?  Why would they allow such a thing?

I thought the use of coloured contacts was dwindling.  Guess not!

    Stupid is as Stupid does!
