Can comets be kept in and indoor aqaurium?

  1. I would not recommend it. Comets get large, about 12". If you want to get comets then get a pond, that way it is easier to maintain and you can stabilize water parameters more easily since it is a larger body of water then an aquarium. If you absolutely had to put them in a tank I would go no less then 100 gallons...and that's just for one fish.

    What many people do is buy small comets (cheap) and keep them in their tank for a year or two. When they start getting big they move them to a pond and they are big enough to avoid being eaten by birds etc.

    Means you can keep a small school of small / medium size comets in your tank, and you aren't buying feeder fish for the local kingfishers.

  4. One comet goldfish needs 55 Gallons to itself.

    After that, you'll need at LEAST 20 gallons per additional fish.
