Can commmunity college courses count towards the 24 unit requirement for California CPA exam?

I am thinking of taking a CPA exam. My friend says that its not okay to do that. I believe that these courses count. Do they count towards accounting requirement for the CPA exam?

  1. I can't speak spicifically about California, but I do know first hand that community college hours (assuming that it is an accredited institution) will work for Missouri and Kansas. I have approximately 15 hours of accounting courses that were taken at a community college. Most of the requirements are similar from state to state so they should work.

    To be safe, you should contact the California State Borad of Accountancy. They may want the course description which is easy to get through the college website.
