I have heard that contact lenses can keep your vision from getting worse... is this true?

  1. No. Don't think they do.


  2. At one time, it was thought that rigid lenses might slow myopia progression, but that is no longer considered correct.

  3. From the time I was about 13, my eye doctor urged my father to get me into rigid lenses, because my prescription was changing about every 6 months.  Dad didn't listen, but Mom did.  When I was 15, she did what the doctor said, and I didn't need new ones until I was about 18.  So yes, I believe rigid gas permeable lenses do in fact keep your eyes from changing too rapidly, especially while your body is rapidly changing.
