Can cooked salmon be frozen?

How long will it last? Does it taste the same after being defrosted?

  1. It cannot be frozen.


  2. Cooked and then frozen is different than fresh and then frozen.  

    Don't leave it in the freezer more than two months and expect a little different texture but not a big difference in taste.

I worked with fish for over 20 years as a meat dept manager, I will very say very few people can tell the difference between fresh or frozen (correctly) foods.  You being a chef, your taste buds may be more refined and you may be able to tell.. best to try it out on a few others besides yourself! GOOD LUCK  

  4. Yes, cooked salmon can definitely be frozen. It tends to dry it out a little bit. You can leave it in the freezer six months and under.
