I'm 13 years old. A few of my friends and I got caught for trespassing.

One of my friends said that he got called to go to court today instead of the 21st, but when I asked everyone else , none of them were called.

He said he was fined $172 , and that was it. He told me that if we went today , it would only be that much.

I wanna know if he's lying , because he tends to like tricking people like this. Could this ever happen? Should I go today?

  1. Yes, court can be rescheduled. However I am sure there is more to his story he is not telling you. He may have discussed this with a lawyer and entered a guilty plea. If this was the case, there would be no trial and he would go straight to sentencing which could very well have been a fine.

  2. Your parents should have been notified of the correct court date.  His story sounds odd to me.  Fines and Court costs dont change depending on what day you go to court.  Call the Juvenile Court in your county and find out your correct court date.  Call now to be sure.  good luck

  3. one must talk with mom and dad about this since they are the one legally responsible for you and this issue and should have all the needed information

  4. Unless you receive information from the court that the date has been changed, appear on the scheduled court date.

  5. Where is your mother/father and why are they not informed of when court will be?

  6. If you have been SUMMONED for a paticular date, by all means go; If you dont, they will issue a warrant for your arrest. Dont take other peoples advice ; Contact the DA's office, and find out when you are supposed to appear. Dont put this off. Where are your parents/guardians in all this? They HAVE to be involved ! The sooner you take care of this, the sooner you can put it all behind you. Hope you have learned a lesson !
