I know it sounds crazy but anybody got any info. Trying to get my 2 mile run time down and I really suck at it. That's pretty bad seeing I've been in the Army 12 years.

  1. It's unfortunate you came up with this idea...Creatine causes leg cramps while Running according to Navy Corpsmen!

You failed to mention what your Run time is, and the way you'd train for it would be different accordingly. I'm assuming your out of shape and trying to improve your PFT Run time.

First of all, are you overweight? if you are, Running is going to be hard on your body! you need to walk the weight off, lift weights, do calisthencs, ect.

Once it's off if you still have a problem with your Run time, do the following:

I'd suggest you look up 5k [3.1 mile] Running workouts, and I'd also suggest you look into workouts created by personal trainers such as Stewart Smith [Google it!].

But being able to Run 2 miles faster is a science of Vo2 Max [carbon dioxide and lactic acid processing], not supplements designed for bodybuilding!

I'd suggest you Run 2 miles a day, 1-3 times a week for a couple weeks, take one week off [stress fracture risk is high], then bump up the weekly mileage to 3-5 times a week.

You can increase the daily distance by 5-15% per week.

Once you can do those runs at an 8:30 pace or better [I'd recommend 7:00/mile], then you can start doing a workout like this:

    Circuit superset workouts:

Basically do 20 squats, 20 leg lunges, 20 heel raises, 40 jumping jacks, 20 4 count mountain climbers, ect.

    That's one superset.

Now do as many supersets as you can! =O

[you can change the numbers to anywhere from 5 to 100 reps/set!]

Then immediately Run 2 miles like this:

    1/2 mile Run [8:00 pace]

1/4 mile Sprint [as fast as possible]

Repeat 1 more time. [=1.5 miles total]

    then...

1/8 mile Run/Walk [good time to catch breath]

    1/8 mile Sprint

Repeat 1 more time [=0.5 miles total]

    Totals:

    1.5 Miles

    +.5 Miles

=2 Miles in at a maximum of 16:00, probably more like 10:00.

If all else fails, start training for a marathon or talk to a track team coach!

I'm assuming your just out of shape or overweight, but if your in peak condition already then you need to ask a professional trainer about speed training.

I'm not a doctor or personal trainer [obviously], so this is a disclaimer that if you get hurt it's not my fault!

Hope you reach your fitness goals!

  2. actually no creatine will make you slower if anything because it fills your muscles with water to make you gain weight. this is why alot of football players use it during regular season and off season.
