  1. im sorry......is he a soccer or basketball player?

  2. I don't think he has enough at bat to win it.

  3. No, he has not had the number of required At Bats to be considered for the ROY.

  4. A player does not have to have a certain number of at-bats to win rookie of the year.  However, the voters may not feel he has been with his team long enough to justify him earning the award.

However, more than likely, he will not be eligible next year.  To qualify a player must not have had more than 130 at-bats in any previous season.  Daniel Murphy has 78 at-bats so far.  There are 21 games left for the Mets.

Even if he only gets 3 at-bats for all of these games, he would end the season with 141 at-bats, well above the minimum.  And even though he may not play in all of the 21 games, he is still likely to get more than 3 at-bats in most of the games he does play in.

So if he is to win it, he would need to do it this year.
