    Their ears cannot absorb the sound waves.

No.  A profoundly deaf person can hear no sounds.  However, they do often notice a shift in air pressure against the skin of the face and can also pick up vibrations in the feet.  Some profoundly deaf people actually go to discos and dance, but have to stand right next to the speakers, which are placed on the dance floor for that purpose - to vibrate the floor.
