Can defense get me into college?

Question

I use to be a great scorer in middle school, but in high school I'm an average scorer and I am really starting to like defense and I am getting pretty good at it. Will college scouts look at you if your an average scorer and great defensive player? I'm 15, Sophomore, 6'1", 135 lbs.

If you really are GREAT at defense, and can hit the occasional spot up jumper, you'll stand out enough to get attention.

No, but good grades will. After all, you want to get a SCHOLARSHIP.

i think that u r way to light to stop ne body from getting into paint in college.. believe me.. im 5'8" i weigh 182 pounds n play JUCO basketball.... there r some big guys out there.... u have to become a scorer and play defense.

Definitely, haven't you heard the famous saying "Defense wins championships"   Thats actually what many scouts focus on. Plus your also an average scorer. For a scout i'd say its almost a win-win situation.

Defense is a great aspect of the game and everyone is looking for a great defensive player a great case to show is in the NBA with artest and the rockets. So if u play extroadinary defense as well as a good offense u will be just fine
