Can detectives become SWAT members also?

is it possible for detectives to become SWAT members and/or be SWAT members and keep their detective positions?

Answer 1

The larger departments have full time SWAT members, so it would not be possible. However, it could be possible on mid sized or smaller departments when the SWAT team is only deployed when needed.

Our department consists of 24 persons, so we can not justify a full time team. Our SWAT team has 8 members, and all three of our detectives are on the team.
