Can dimond be melted and molded into a different shape and then turn back in to dimond.?

  2. No you can't melt a diamond but it will burn just like a lump of coal since they are both made of the same material, carbon.

    Davy and Michael Faraday burned a diamond and proved that the only product was carbon dioxide, showing that diamonds were pure carbon.

    but the type of carbon it forms depends on the conditions. it can form graphite, diamond or coal, or it just forms seperate carbon atoms in the air.

  5. Yes, diamond can be melted into liquid carbon and then recrystallized back into diamond. Diamond melts at pressure 100,000 atmospheres (which is about the 1/10 of pressure in center of Earth) and temperature 4200 C.
