Can diving from high platform damage eyes?

Question

I was just wondering if diving from a 10m platform can damage your eyes if you are near sighted. I really want to take diving classes, but I've heard that it's not good for near sighted ppl. Thank you!!!!

10 meter platform diving can actually cause detached retinas from the repeated force  that is exerted on the body when you hit the water at high speeds. I'm not sure if you are at an increased risk because you are near sighted

lies.... how does it damage ur eyes?! the only way it damages ur eyes is if u open ur eyes completely without shutting it

Yes, in some cases it can!

A lot of divers get operations on there eyes.
