Can dogs catch colds?

Question

My dog has been ...well..'coughing and sneezing' for a few days now and I was wondering if dogs could catch colds? I am not sure whether to go to the vets with her or if i am over-reacting. Thanks

It could be KENNEL COUGH----those are the symptoms----There is no cure, they need to ride it out.  My dog has caught it twice.  The best thing I did for her was to give her immune system herbs for dogs, it helped her get over it.

Yes.. My Dog Has Had Colds Too.. They Get Over It In A Few Days.. Just Keep Her Warm And She Should Be Fine. Hope This Helps.

Yes they can catch colds and to tell if they have fill there nose and if it is dry that means it has a cold if it is really wet then that means it is fine x Thank-you And Good Luck x

Dogs can get colds just like any animal. And just like other animals, they tend to get better on their own. If you don't see any improvement soon, however, you might want to consider taking your dog to the vet, especially if the coughing doesn't improve. Coughing can be a sign of something more serious, like a heart or lung problem.

And like anything else, it depends on the age of the dog. If it's just a puppy, it'll take longer for it to get better, because his/her immune system is still weak. Older dogs also have trouble getting better on their own. An important thing to watch for is if your dog stops drinking. If he/she doesn't drink anything for a day, take it to the vet right away.

Yes, dogs can catch colds. They can get things more serious like kennel cough or it could just be a minor cold. I would call your vet and tell them all of your dogs symptoms. If they think you should come in then I would so that your dog can get the proper treatment. Good luck!

they can i've had a dog all my life and they both have see how she goes and if in a few days time she's still not better then i'd go to the vets with her but just see how she goes for the time being she'll be ok don't worry ;)
