Can dogs tell evil spirits from good ones?

If so, what tells them they are evil?

I don't know what tells them but dogs do seem to know good people from bad ones (even among pet owners and non pet owners).

I've never seen this really tested scientifically but I have enough experiences that if my animals don't like someone I am suspicious.

Animals (including dogs) have responded in aggressive ways to reported haunted locations (like a room) and not responded in other areas where activity is not reported.

I don't know if they sense spirits or pick up on something else that humans may experience as a haunting.

Since I haven't yet met a dog that speaks English so far they have not shared if the spirits they detect (if that's what they detect) are evil or good.

i would trust an animal's instinct.  they are highly sensitive to pheromones and a person's "scent" tells a lot about them.  as for haunts, it may be your own changing.  i have seen a recording of an animal's reaction in a situation like that without a person around.  it is so strong though, that my cat (before she became mine) started hissing at a person who had kept her locked up in her bathroom the night before, and i couldn't see her a block away, until she crested the hill.  they definitely have opinions and memory, too.

Yes, a dog can tell a bad person with an evil spirit from a good person. this is why people hire guard dogs. a dog will not bite a good person unless it is rabid with rabies or a crazy dog. Dogs and cats have a higher intelligence and can tell the difference between a good or bad person. Read the history of the seeing eye dog and all animals are very spititual. they can tell when a hurricane or bad weather is coming before a person can. They have ESP and gifts!

If dogs could talk.They'd tell us to keep our superstitions to ourselves.Thinking they have supernatural powers is silly.It also proves people don't understand animals or their senses.Dogs give their allegiance to whoever feeds and cares for them.Hitler had dogs and they loved him.Are all letter carriers evil?I'm a nice guy most dogs like me.That doesn't mean I can go into their territory anytime I want.

I don't know for sure. Maybe you can tell by the differences in it's bark or growl . I've had many dogs. But, I think sometimes they bark and growl just because someone is a stranger..esp. if they have on a hat or cap. Hmmm Wonder why  the hat/cap makes a difference. Also, I think they'll do the same at people who have fear in them. Our "computer guy " friend is afraid of my dogs..big dogs..& they always bark at him. I don't think he's an evil person..but I think they can sense his fear.

  I DO believe that my house had a spirit (I don't know if it was good or bad) that one of my dogs growled & jumped back (not towards it) . I think some dogs are also afraid of spirits/ghosts etc. I couldn't see the spirit..but we both ran out of the house. I definitely wish I had been more sensitive to the actions of my dogs in the past. When I came home..it seemed like something had scared them. They were all huddled against the wall. Stupid me!! I didn't know till later that someone had been coming into my house..and probably abusing them. I know I'll always regret and grieve that I didn't know that was happening.

  I know also that a woman (Charismatic) kept telling me that I had demons. I assumed she meant inside of me. I think now..that if that was true..my dogs would have sensed it & stayed away from me..or barked or growled or something. I haven't thought of that before.

And...one time I babysat a little boy..about 9 yrs. old..who went berzerk while I was there. I wondered if maybe I had brought  something bad with me. On the other hand..maybe there was something bad in him that was aroused  when I came there.Then, all of a sudden he would become very sweet..as if it had left. I know he was on medication..but he really "showed off" in not nice ways while I was there. I really think he was on the wrong medication..or it had worn off.

But...in answer to your question....I'm not really sure if they can tell if it's good or evil. I would think that because my dog was afraid and didn't try to charge at it..that it was evil.  I just know that they sense things we don't and we need to pay attention to how they act. It's so unfair that they can't talk. I wish ALL animals etc. could talk. If they had ALWAYS been able to talk...it would be "normal" and we wouldn't think of it as weird.

Dogs are able to detect when someone is scared of them. Humans  produce a substance in their bodies called Adrenaline. This substance will increase its levels when a person experiences an uncomfortable situation (fear).

What is difficult to understand is why dogs tend to react in a negative way towards those ones who fear them.

People say that cats are the ones who are able to sense ghosts or spirits, good and evil.But that`s something only cats know.
