This was written 7 years ago, there may be a more up-to-date review kicking around somewhere.  Given the difficulty of implicating something as episodic as African dust on something so variable as asthma attacks and respiratory infections, I doubt there have been a conclusions one way or another.  This just happens to be the review I knew about.  Googling some of the names and terms in this article might find you more recent work.
