Can earwigs climb up walls?

Question

Can they climb up walls or... up any hard surface in general?

I found one in my bed, which is on a wooden frame about a foot and a half off the ground (very rough estimate) and in a corner touching two walls. I want to know how to stop them from getting there again. I don't want to feel one on my leg again. Waay too creepy.

unfortunately yes, they can get quite annoying after a while.

Did you try an exterminator?

Try my ant trick. Put a finger wide line of petroleum jelly around anything that touches the ground.
