  1. Yes, i think the major causes of crime is ego. Why do we have wars?Because other feel they are left out or they are being stepped on. why do we have prominent people taking over everything without minding about the poor ones?Because he feels hes great and is entitled to reach the level above everybody. So at the long run, we have to do what pleases him/her,with or without knowing.

All these is done to satisfy one's ago.

If they want to be the best, they will do what ever it takes to get there,of which involves a lot.

    Thanks for asking

  2. i think so but in most cases no.

  3. Yes and No. I have never heard of a case in which an egomaniac killed another becasue of ego specifically, although there have been many cases that are loosly related. For instance, a man finds his wife cheating on him. He can't beleive that his wife would leave him for anyone becasue he is the greatest man(in his own mind, ego) and thus kills the competition literally. Many people with large egos often commit petty crimes out of a sense of entitlement, or that they think they are too smart, good looking, ect to get caught or get in much trouble.

    I hope this helps

  4. Possibly. Just look at all those comic book supervillains. I guess when you have a huge ego, you care less about others and basically devalue them. One reason people don't commit crimes is because they're still concerned about how it would affect others, after all.

Having an ego on its own wouldn't make you a criminal, though, there must be other contributing factors. Circumstance counts as well as personality. Otherwise all the a******s in the world would be murderers and thieves and whatnot...

  5. All crimes can be traced back to 3 motives.  Lust, Greed, and Religion......

  6. maybe not killing people but there are theories  that people commit crime in order to keep up with the rest of the criminals. Like Fruad's p***s Envy. That women mock men because they are jealous.

Also there is a theory called criminal inticement, where others will commit crime because of the hype other criminals give it.

It has more to do with adraneline rushes than ego.

Egoes will interfere with the criminal thinking she/he will get caught. They thinkt hey are too bad *** to get caught so they are careless in covering their tracks

  7. it's been known to happen

  8. I don't know about killing people, but some of the most egotistical people I've ever known were also the ones that committed the most petty crimes. The sort of things that they thought they could get away with, and often times did, until someone caught on and nailed them. This type person just seems to think they are above the law and give little (or no) thought to how their actions will affect other people. Even though they know what they are doing is wrong, it is inconceivable to them that THEY will ever have to pay for their crimes.

I'm sure there is some other type mental problem at work in these folks, but a big ego is the most noticeable personality trait that these people have.
