im talking about if you become a SEAL as an enlisted, then if you wanted to be an officer in the SEAL teams so you can lead them, can you go from enlisted to officer and still stay in the SEALS?

  1. Of course, if there is an open billet, a lot of officers go the other way and drop their comission to go to BUDS because there are no open officer positions.

  2. I don't see why not he's a trained seal why put him somewhere else

  3. If an enlisted man becomes an officer and gentleman he will be assigned to whatever the Navy wants to assign him to.  If they think he should still serve in the SEALs, that is where he will go.

  4. Of course the SEALS have officers.  Who do you think is in charge of their units?  Every military organization has officers.  They are the commanders.   As a matter of fact, the President just pinned a Medal of Honor (I think) on a Navy Seal lieutenant that died in Afghanistan four years ago.  Or was it a Navy Cross?  I don't remember.  But, the SEALS don't pay a lot of attention to rank formalities.  They just go about their daily routine of killing bad guys and being heros, very informally.

  5. With additionaly training - yes.  He has to learn to be an officer and a gentleman!!

  6. as a seal you work together no one leades thier not like everyone else they think for them selves they dont get orders except from the nswcc

  7. They can become an officer, just like an enlisted non-SEAL becomes an officer.  He won't stay in his field though, he is trained for special ops, and that's how he'll serve.
