  1. I didn't hear of that one before. Some years ago Apricot kernal oil became very popular because the Hunza tribe in the Himalayas (?) lived mostly on it and lived very long lives. I suppose they still do. It is good for health internally and externally but maybe a preventative only. Still it is wise to take preventatives to prevent further degeneration of health isn't it?

  2. Not in the US for some reason,( ;P) but in Mexico it can, and does..BUT, there is a process that they use to make it safe..As the first answerer got right, it can hurt too..The stuff in them is laetrile.  I know of a man who did do this treatment in mexico, and goes back once in a while for more..He has been cancer free for many years now..

  3. No, but it can certainly lead to cyanide poisoning. That is quackery, plain and simple.

  4. Apricot kernels do, indeed, contain a component of cyanide; however, this is not free cyanide. Vitamin B17 (Amygdalin) is a compound comprised of the molecules of a sugar, hydrogen cyanide, and an acetone. Though the intact molecule is, for all practical purposes, completely non-toxic, it can be unlocked by an enzyme called, Beta-glucosidase, to a sugar, free hydrogen cyanide, and benzaldehyde. This is where mother nature gets clever. Beta-glucosidase is found in a very high concentration at the site of cancer and only in relatively small quantities elsewhere. Our bodies manufacture another enzyme, rhodanese, specifically designed to neutralise free hydrogen cyanide, converting it to harmless thiocyanate and allowing it to pass out of the body. Better still, cancerous tissue is deficient in this enzyme, which leaves it susceptible to the destructive properties of hydrogen cyanide in combination with benzaldehyde - the two components work synergistically.

So, yes, the rumours you've heard that apricot kernels contain cyanide is, indeed, true; however, now that you understand how it works, you can explain to other people that this is not free cyanide, as one might imagine in a vial depicting a skull and crossbones. This is a locked, harmless compound that requires a key - keys found under the doormats of cancer cells. With these keys, the B17 compound is unlocked, releasing the cyanide to do its important work at the site. You can also explain that our healthy tissue has, waiting in the wings, the rhodanese enzyme, ready to pounce on any free cyanide that escapes the site, neutralising it and rendering it harmless.

Rhodanese is a natural, evolutionary enzyme produced to deal with dietary cyanide, which is present in hundreds of common foods.

Apricot kernels aren't a cure for cancer. They are simply an important component of a broad nutritional approach to overcoming cancer. They do indeed work for a great many people, as do a number of other alternative approaches.

It's important to understand the agenda of those who strive to disprove the efficacy of alternative therapies, many of which are very inexpensive and available to all. It is very much in the best interest of the pharmaceutical industry to see to it that the bulk of the western world feel suspicious of natural medicine, and they create these feelings throuhg proaganda, using ervices such as quackwatch.com, which is nothing more than a fear-mongering venue designed for people incapable of doing their own, intelligent research, which is the majorioty of global population.

Do yourselves a favour - be proactive about your health. Though most conventional doctors mean well, they only know what they've been taught to know. They've been educated as pharmaceutical drug-pushers. They've been taught to treat symptoms with drugs, not to treat cause. This is the difference between allopathic medicine and natural medicine.

Don't believe everything you read with the ignorant assumption there isn't an hidden agenda behind most studies. These studies are most often funded by the pharmaceutical industry, who have a keen interest in a particular result, which will enable the sale of their latest concoction. Scientific data is very easily manipulated. Anecdotal evidence is far more powerful. Start your research there.

  5. No, I don't think it can. I'd suggest being cautious when looking at alternative medicines for cancer. If you must use alternative treatments, I'd suggest using it together with mainstream treatments (chemotherapy, radiotherapy etc).

There's an article at http://www.cancerdoubts.com that explains alternative and complementary medicines for cancer patients.

  6. Raw Apricot seeds help lower blood acidity...All diseases and illnesses have an acidic nature.......especially cancer/tumors.

the pH of malignant tumors is low/acidic so a blood alkalizing diet will help raise the pH of the body and slowing down/ceasing the spread of the disease..

Google "Alkalizing diet" and read more..

    All the best

  7. NO-Eating the seeds may help prevent cancer but not cure there is No prov-en facts to this yet!Seeds supply you with B17 Its Not a cure but helps seeds such as -apple,peach, cherry, grape, and apricots. Apricots have the highest level of B 17 this could help with a cancer free life

  8. have no idea for that... but in terms of cure or cancer prevention... should take natural & wholesome food which is highly in polysaccharides, such as ABM mushroom, Coriolus versicolor mushroom, Shiitake mushroom, Reishi mushroom and Maitake mushroom.  Polysaccharides balance the immune system by producing immune cells and chemicals that aid in the destruction of cancer cells or viruses.

polysaccharides from plant foods improve the balance of our bodily systems to help us ward off pathogens, without causing harmful side effects.
