  1. If you don't mind if bugs munch on it while it drys, and you put it where your dog or cat can't l**k it. :-)


  2. You're not going to get the range of colors that you would like and someone might want to eat it

  3. Do you mean mixing with oil paints in place of linseed etc? If so then yes, although it can be unpredictable in terms if drying times, sheen and it may also yellow colours with age.

    P.S You can also draw with oil and a brush directly onto paper to give a translucent effect...

  4. No. It is altogether the wrong kind of oil.

    Oil paint requires what is called a "drying oil". It has to harden up after exposure to oxygen (oxidation). Linseed oil is the most commonly-used drying oil. Walnut oil can also be used.

    Olive oil is not a drying oil, so use that for cooking purposes, not painting.
