for instance, my mother has green eyes, and my father has blue. Can my eyes be blue with patches of green (and vise versa), a blend of both resulting in blueish green, or do they have to just be blue?

  1. I've seen two colors mixed. Like my friends parents have brown and green eyes.. so his are brown with a ring of green on the inside. Looks cool!

  2. Well my Papa had brown eyes with green, and gray specks in his eyes, (he was Native American, African-American, and White-American). Hope I helped you!

  3. I'm not sure. See I have greenish brown eyes and I'm not sure where the brown came from because my dad has green eyes and that's where I got the green of my eyes and my mom has blue eyes.

I suppose they can mix in color, though.

  4. Yss.

The genetics they teach in high school biology, that there are just two eye colors, dominant Brown (B) and recessive blue (b), so everyone in the world is BB, Bb, bB or bb, is a gross simplification.

There are 7 or 8 genes for eye color, which is why there are people with eyes colored green, voliet, copper-colored, grey, light brown, dark brown, so dark they are nearly black brown, pale blue, sky blue, muddy blue . . .

B/b works most of the time in most people, but there are variations.

Don't worry about the category. At least you didn't ask about the Taylor Swift code word of the day or One Tree Hill.

  5. Of course they can. My eyes are blueish/green as well. Mind you some days they look right blue and other times green. Most people tell me they usually look green.

  6. My boyfriend has blue eyes with a large patch of brown. My eyes are brown with a large patch of green
