  1. Fears are based on the unknown factor, they are not genetic, so a little information will help eliminate most fears.

  4. I don't believe very many fears are passed on genetically.  Most are likely passed on by environment, that is, by observing the parent.  

    There is, however, some evidence that fears can be hereditary - some birds seem to instinctively avoid brightly colored butterflies, some of which are poisonous, so it's possible.  

    Children take cues from parents - for example, if a parent freaks out at the sight of a spider or bee, so too with the child.
