Can felons get a license to sell insurance?

They look back 10 years for convictions. They also ask about prior convictions so typically.. ...no someone with a record could not sell insurance.

If you're a convicted felon and you want to sell insurance, you have to get special permission from your state insurance commissioner, or else you're not going to be able to get a license.  

If by some rare fluke you got that exception (it doesn't happen often), you're going to have a really hard time finding a company willing to appoint you.
