  1. Yes they can.

I read up on this for my boyfriends mother the other day on wikipedia.org

There they said that when you put 2 females together, 1 will probably bully the other, but when you put 4 or more together, they build a community and can live together, but watch out and keep an eye on them.

Because, it's still possible that you have a bully living with them.

But, that is only if you put females Bettas together, it's also possible to put them with a variety of other fish.

  2. Yes only if the other fish aren't aggressive.

  3. Probably, they are not as aggressive as the males are, I wouldn't worry about it too much..

  5. sure, they would go great together. the problem lies with the other fish. the blue tetra should be in a shoal of 6+ of it's own kind. they also need at least 10 gallons, they are very active swimmers. may i suggest you give him away to someone who can give him a more suitable home? also, what kind of sucker fish do you have? as far as i am aware, there are no sucker fish that stay small enough to live in a 5 gal. i would do some research and see what you come up with. i would get two of three more minnows and put your female betta in there. the two species mix well and make a great display. also, the minnows will be so much happier in a small group rather in a pair.

    good luck :)
