  1. like cats ferrets are strict carnivors. although they accept a somewhat varried diet in captivity, tehy should be fed primarily meat. tehy do not digest carbohidrates or roughage well. ferrets are better off eating ferret food from teh pet store or a good quality cat food. Ferret food is more expensive than cat food but  cat food does not provide exactl;y what the ferret needs in a diet. TIME TO TIME you can give your ferret well cooked meats, raw meats or meats not cooked enough can make your ferret ill. Ferrets tend to eat less in hot weather. They have a high motabilism and like to eat several times a day. Water should be provided in a water bottle in teh cage.

  2. No if you want to give it meat give it raw unprocessed uncooked meat.

Go to the link I provided on your other question.

EDIT: don't listen to the poster below me. Ferrets are made to eat whole prey (thawed frozen or live animals) They have a short digestive track of about 3 hours. The illness the poster below is talking about is salmonella which takes 5 to 6 hours to incubate in an animal or human and make them sick. so even if the meat does have salmonella which is unlikely anyways they ferret will just shed the bacteria.

  3. Yes. Ferrets are carnivore and thus are fully capable of eating hot dogs, bologna, steak, chicken, etc. In fact, I have made a point of feeding my ferrets all sots of meats and various types of cat/kitten/ferret foods in order to avoid them getting picky about what food they eat. And, in a pinch, I can always feed them some of my own dinner if we are short on ferret food and don't feel like running to the store right then. I have never had a problem with my ferrets because of this.
