Can fibreglass boats be insulated to eliminate condensation and retain heat?

    a eurpthane foam is injected to reenforce the walls...

    the temp of the air/water is the temp of the fiberglass.......

    there is no termal break so.........chill

Yes I took aluminum sided 1" foam 4x8 sheets from the lumber yard<and did the bulk heads> any panel you can remove> Use 3 " aluminum tape on the seams and some tube glue like nail it to stick to the bulk heads> do the engine room for quiet>I used spray foam in places to quiet the noise> Worked great> If you can get the headliner down that's a great place> Anywhere behind cabinets is good to>

Yes, they can.  I've insulated my boat for both staying warm in winter and cool in summer.   Older boats are easier than new boats, but the more you can do the better.  Keep in mind the water your sitting in is almost always warmer in winter than the air temp. and cooler in summer than the air temp.  Also, the interior space in a boat has about 40% of the air volume when compared to normal rooms at home.  Thus it's easier to heat with electric space heaters, or cool with a heat pump air conditioner.   I used urethane foam and glued it in place.  There is a fire risk but you can limit it by covering with foil or fiberglass panels.   Good luck!
