Question:

Can find an exact match for my contact lenses prescription?

I have 8.6 curve and 13.8 diameter and -5 sph. I can get a the rite sph but the base curve and diameter is off by a few points (0.2 or 0.4) on the brands i really want to try. Can i settle for a close match? Thanks

  1. Thing is, you can't just go trying different brands on your own. You have no clue if they will even fit. Even when the size is the same it doesn't always mean it will fit you right. Different materials of the lenses often make them fit very different.

    Thats why a specific brand is marked on your prescription.

    To change brands, a fitting has to be done at the opticians, with trial lenses , or you have a good chance of buying boxes of lenses that won't fit at all.


  2. i guess so, my perscription is a little off but it makes hardly any difference, best check with your optition but they'l obv say its best to go with whats exactly right
