Question:

Can fish pass gas???? :)

i was asked this by a little kid today and i truely didnt know the answer. any answers would be apreciated. thanks

  1. uhh i dont think so.. to pass gass you would need air.. and fish live underwater.. this is just an assumption

  3. Ummm....I don't think fish are capable of passing gas, in my experiance of having fish, I have never witnessed air bubbles comming from the other end! Lol...

  4. I would think so, if the food they ingested contained any oxygen bubbles.

  5. Actually yes. fish can, though it can be deadly!

    it's a common condition in gold fish when they swallow air while eating. the air gets lodged in their stomach and they bob up and down on the surface of the water for a while. if this air isn't passed out of the system with in a day or two then pressure can build and the fish could die. so it is very important for the fish to "pass gas" at this point.  

    i guess that you could say... passing gas is a life or death situation!  

  6. yea that f**t and burp watch them it bubbles come out there gills theyr burping and i see them farting all the time
