Question:

Can floor vibrations do damage to a computer?

I recently noticed that when I tap my feet on the floor (which is carpeted) of my room, or when I stomp hard enough on it, all of the objects nearby seem to shake or vibrate a little.

It's not really noticeable until you actually notice it, but I believe it's also causing my computer to shake a bit. I'm wondering if this kind of vibration can actually do damage to the computer, much like loud speakers placed next to it could?

However, when you think about it, my room is on the second floor, and I would think that in the case of most homes or buildings, any room located on a higher level would have a floor thin enough for some kind of vibrating to occur. It seems pretty much common sense to me that the floor would send vibrations depending on how hard you walk on it, and that objects would then react by shaking.

But then again, there's all this concern about damage being done to the components of a computer due to "vibrations."
