Can fondant be hard to make it like candy?

There are three kinds of fondant...rolled fondant that is a cake covering, poured fondant that is usually used to cover petit fours, and fondant candy centers.  So if you want a fondant candy center, just look for a recipe like that.

Rolled fondant will harden if exposed to air long enough.  I make fondant flowers and dry them on formers, and they dry hard enough to pick up and they hold their shape, but they wouldn't be very good to eat once they're that hard.
