I've always seen other people drink bottled, frozen water. Will freezing the water actually affect your health. I've heard from some people that the cool temperatures will affect the plastic and release some poisonous gas. Is it true? ( Please provide answers with a website or some evidence. thx! =) )

  1. Yes, freezing a bottle of water can release toxic gas from the plastic. It doesn't effect your health very much, but I wouldn't suggest doing it.

  2. Nowadays, researchers have tested and come to a conclusion that plastic bottles, especially the ones used to bottle water do indeed have harmful plastics in them. When you freeze water inside a plastic bottle, it causes the chemicals from the bottle to leech into the water. It also applies for when you leave a bottle in the hot sun, that's why you can probably taste a difference in the water. What I recommend is to bottle tap water (if it's safe where you live) inside one of those metal bottles because at least you know that there won't be any harmful chemicals in there.

  3. letting water bottles get hot (like leaving them in cars) lets the chemicals from the plastic leech into the water... freezing should have the opposite effect.
