I'm gonna be a freshman this year, and I want to take everything that I can to get into a good university.

I'm planning to join tennis, badminton, Key Club/Kiwins (haven't decided, can someone explain the difference?), Red Cross, and Ecology, and orchestra.

Is that enough? Or do i need more extracurriculars..

  1. That does seem good enough, but remember, colleges/universities like to see if your are committed to the extra curricular activities that you are involved in. if you join a club, colleges and university admissions want to see you be in that club more at least two years. if your in a club for just one year, it's like asking "what's her interests?" or "where is she or he committed to?"

as long as you attend clubs/sports that you are committed to, you're golden. don't join a club that you're not interested in...

the other thing is, you have to remember that colleges also look at your grades. the more effort you put into your work, the better the grade will be. so keep those grades up! and, if you take orchestra, you might get yourself out of a fine arts course. and remember, if you ace it- it looks good on your transcript.

    best of luck!

  2. You can do all those freshman year but there are a few things you need to take into a account first. You need to figure out what semesters these sports take place in so one doesn't overlap the other, you need to see that you have enough time to accomplish all of these without your grades faltering, and you need to make sure  you are not putting too much pressure on yourself. Remember, high school is 4 YEARS and not just one. There is plenty of time to get these activities and clubs in. In fact, you can even get them in summerschool to gain some extra credits or extra curriculars. Just pace yourself and chose wisely.

  3. thats really good, its good to join one sport and one club and orchestra. thats good enough. u should join key club. =]also join badminton is really fun which high school are u going?

  4. well i just finish high school this june...and you should do extracurricular activities but not a lot though..it is your freshman year...focus on your studies as well..and i think you can join NHS right now...but check with them..and CSF is when you have been in NHS for 2 or 3 years..or 4 years....if u have AVID in your school...join and don't drop it....it will be difficult at first but in the end u will be going to a good university...because i am! AVID will help you prepare u for college...so yeah good luck in your high school life!!!

  5. You overachiever! lol, that should be enough, you don't want too much, it is your freshmen year, after all. At my high school, they have applications for juniors to join NHS for their senior year. I don't know what CSF is.
