  1. Well there are things you can do to help reduce the amount of harm you are causing the enviroment, you can do this by offsetting your carbon on websites such as; www.co2debt.com . On these sites you are able to prevent climate change by funding ethical reforestation projects. I personally found that www.co2debt.com was the best site for this because of their strong relationships with other non-profit organizations. I have found that this is the best we could do to help save our enviroment i personally just offset my business, my car, and my house

  2. The City of Houston Solid Waste Dept recently announced that ALL our landfills are, or soon will be, tapping the methane and generating electricity.

  3. Yes, It produces methane gas. Which can be converted to fuel. Also cretin plants such as corn or soy beans can be converted to ethanol. Notice the new Flex Fuel vehicles being created by the automakers.

  4. Have you ever seen Back to the Future???  Mr. Fusion will allow us to power ourselves with bananna peels and soda cans

  5. Yes

Garbage generates methane gas when they decompose. That gas can be collected and can be used to in small power plants, or for cooking and heating gas.

  6. There is a nifty way called Pyrolysis. first, you put garbage in a sealed chamber with little oxygen and set a blowtorch on it. the hot gasses coming out can be used to make steam and also a "syngas" drains out the bottom. this gas can also be burned for fuel. the inorganic leftovers are a glasslike substance that can be used for a building material. that way you put garbage in, and out comes A.hot energy-producing air B.syngas C.a glassy byproduct that can be reused for various products. Look ma! no waste! look it up

  7. Of course they can be a source of fuel.  So can leaves and grass clippings.  However, no one is willing to challenge Exxon/Mobil and their energy monopoly; not even the solar industry.

  8. Yes, of course. Organic garbage can be made into alcohol or used to produce methane. both of which can  be used to fuel cars, while methane can be used for heating as well.

If the government would stop wasting money on price supports for all these "gas giants" and withdraw from countries it has no business invading, half the homes in the U.S. could have heat pumps, passive solar heating, or solar collectors. Of course we know the powers that be have invested interests in the oil refining business and in armaments. Why not call em Kruppites?

  9. yes, landfills that are covered for a number of years produce methane gas from wells drilled into the trash.  It's being done here in Texas.

  10. One company doing this is Blue Fire ethanol.

    Their website is:

    http://www.bluefireethanol.com/

  11. Most anything can be used for fuel, but the cost of production would be higher than the cost of gas.  Water is an exception to this problem. Please read the information on Water Fuel at the link below.
