If so, what would have to happen? I believe they will only go down slightly, if at all.

  1. no because it has already been paid so why would the gas co's lower the price

  2. Once your war criminal president monkey dumb azz Bush is impeached then gas will go down.

  3. only slightly yes.  BUT no they will not go down to before Bush was elected which was $1.46 per gallon.

  4. In a heartbeat! There are only two things that need to be done to bring down the price of gas immediately. One, ban the oil companies from exporting our oil ( we are the fifth largest exporter of oil in the world ) Two, repeal the act that allowed the speculators to speculate in the oil futures market. Until Bush had it changed , it was illegal to speculate in the futures market in oil. There is currently an investigation going on that basically has found that the oil companies are manipulating the information about the quantity of our oil supplies, but since the congress is basically corrupt, nothing will be done, I fear.

  5. Not unless the price of oil goes down, which would involve finding more of it.

    Gas is $4.59 here!

  6. iTs AMERICA We all wish the same thing about gas prices going down!!

  7. if the liberals would let us mine in Alaska.

  8. gas prices will never ever ever go down. Just think about this how much was the gas prices back in the 80's?

  9. The price of gas will never go down.

  10. if we find more oil maybe

  11. Yes, but the fall in prices will be temporary.

Two things will make the gas prices drop at the pump:

    1)  The value of the dollar climbs.  This happens when other countries currency falls OR we change policies to affect the power of our dollar (like stop printing money for banks or stop running up more debt than we tax income).

    2)  We use less fuel.  This happens when the weather is mild, requiring less cooling or heating needs.  And, it happens when we drive less.

Both are temporary because the USA is no longer the main driver.  India, China, and Russia are all increasing their hunger for oil rapidly as they develop further.  Even though US consumption went down 0.3% in the last year, gas prices went up 20%.  This is in large part because of these other countries hunger for oil and the falling dollar.

  12. Well, if people boycotted driving, then they might say, "Well, if the people won't drive, let's make it like 2.00$ a gallon, or something so they'll drive, and if not then, we'll just have to lower it." Or something like that... IDK. And honestly, I don't drive yet, so I don't know how hard it'd be to pay for gas.

  13. O f course gas & energy prices will fall, I was talking to my friend at the tme & he said isnt it marvelous how those pigs can maintain such a tight formation at that altitude!

  14. ya, of course the prices can go down.  but these days there is no real hope that it will unless we can completely switch to some alternative fuel that is cheap to manufacture.

  15. It's a speculative price boom. When consumption drops due to price and new oil finds come online, all the hundreds of tankers full of speculative oil sitting around the world appreciating will get dumped on the market. This will drive the oil price down to about $50 a barrel and US gas prices to around $1.70 a gallon. The China/India consumption thing is just speculator's spin. They only consume around 3% of world consumption.
