yes any living thing can lose its baby during pregnancy

Yes.

If you suspect that your gerbil has miscarried, it will need to see a vet.

If it was early in the pregnancy, the babies may be reabsorbed.

If it was closer to delivery, the babies may need surgical removal, or the gerbil will die.

she went into labor but nothing came out.  something like a miscarriage.
