Can girls with braces ever be pretty/cute?

I have to get braces, and I really, really don't want them. I'm not usually this vain about things that I medically require (my mouth is just too overcrowded), but d**n, I hate those braces.

My main problem is that braces look so "modern", and I have a very vintage look going on. I feel that they'll set my whole look out of joint, not to mention they'll make me even more ugly.

Can girls with braces ever be pretty? And is there anything I can do to make my braces not so "modern"?

I'm 19 and have braces. I got the clear ones and hardly anybody notices. Being a sophomore in college I was very nervous that guys wouldn't be attracted to me, but that wasnt the case because they know braces aren't permanent. I've had no trouble meeting people, but if you hide under your braces people will notice that you're insecure and your braces will be even more noticeable. If you get clear you can get a gold wire, pair it with some vintage gold earrings and you'll be far from modern. hope that helped!
