  1. Mars has no population and it's heating up.http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/...

  2. Assuming AGW is corerct, no, not necessarily. The remaining populations may develop a "more for me" attitude and create/utilize even more destructive technologies. The problem isn't the number of people, it's how the people live.

  3. That's a great idea, but don't let the US Presidential candidates get hold of it.

We would soon have Obama campaigning on a platform of "Ethnic Warming", and McCain on the platform of "Global Cleansing".

  4. No, it would merely delay it (and reduce the resources we have to solve the problem with since).

The Earth can support quite a lot more than is currently on it provided we use our best technology which some people seem to oppose doing.

  5. NO !!!!

  6. Why don't you ask the Republican's that?  They are already doing a great job of it!

  7. Why? are you volunteering?

  8. global warming is not real...

  9. A better solution would be for every human to consume less and use less resources. It doesn't make any sense to reduce the world's population but let everyone who remains drive hummers.

Having less babies would also be a good idea, but less for stopping global warming and more for conserving water and other resources and because some areas of the planet are way too dense.

I don't think anyone, anywhere, is going to be suggesting genocide as a way to help the environment.

  10. No.

  11. Reducing the world's human population would very likely ease global warming/our global carbon footprint, however it is also not a very practical solution.

  12. I don't believe that human's are responsible for global warming, I'm on the "It's a natural occurrence" boat. However the worlds population is growing too fast. China and India especially. In Africa AIDS is taking care of much of the over-population.

  13. Assuming humans are causing a majority of it, yes it would probably work if drastic cuts in population somehow happened.   Or, we could just use our resources more wisely and have the same effects.

  14. decreasing the human population, will result in the increase of domestic animal, since there will be less people to eat them.

  15. LOL  Obama meets Al Gore

I can see the Article and Conference now:

    "Protecting Our Environment Through Eugenics"

  16. Absolutely-- and an ICE AGE would be a perfect vehicle for reducing the world's population. Imagine a world with Chicago under 2 miles of ICE, as it was during the last ice age.

EDIT-- don't think an ice age would be 1000 times worse than a 2 degree rise in temperature? (their prediction not mine)-- think again how the world would change if everything above or below about 40 degrees latitude was frozen all year!

  17. The human population on this insignificant planet has no effect upon solar activity (the true cause of this recent warming trend).  An attempt to regulate reproductive rights down here in the South will most CERTAINLY result in a reduction of the world's population...just not the ones originally intended.

  18. I like the idea of 2 miles of ice. Imagine the ski season!

And hummers. The solution to having too many babies.

I say let all the environmentalists/collectivists/statists commit suicide to save The Mother. That should reduce the population in the US by about 2/3 and leave the lands free for hunting.

  19. The world would be better off if everybody was gone except my friends and love ones

  20. Exactly which part of the human population did you have in mind for this reducing?  Annoying as we conservatives are you might want to aim for a more compliant population to eradicate.  After all we own all the guns.
