My son is almost 5 and he has been eating me out of the house this summer. He is active and not at all overweight. He wants to eat about every 2 hours. I feed him apples, crackers and cheese, cereal, etc. Just wondering if this is a growth spurt or he is just going to start eating more that he is turning into a little boy and not a toddler?

  1. Every kid is different.  My son is 5 -- some days he eats like he's in the Nathan's hot dog contest on Coney Island, other days he doesn't eat much at all.

Activities that they do during the day are probably a big driver.  The more active they are, the hungrier they'll be.  Metabolism is another factor -- kids with faster metabolisms eat more.  As we all know, metabolism is something that eventually slows down as the years go by....
