  1. Rabbits and pigs should never be kept together, even supervised. Things can happen in an instant and your pig could be dead.

  2. most likely. but females would probably be less aggressive if they wer 2 b. males hav a more dominent streak.

  3. Not a good idea http://www.guineapigcages.com/rabbits.ht...

  4. They can be "friends" as long as you hold your piggie and your friend holds the bunny. They should never be housed or left alone together. The piggie will be the loser.

  5. they can be friends but only during supervised play times. guineas are calm and submissive. rabbits arnt, they can bite and kick a guinea with such a blow it can break bones or kill a guinea. they should never be left alone together. while some are lucky with their pairings, its a time bomb, dont risk it!

  6. no the bunny will kick the guinea it with its strong legs

    resulting in fatal injury

  7. Yeah they can be Friends.i have a rabbit and a guinea pig and they both live in the same cage.so they should be alright together. And they can live together anyway.

  8. guinea pigs need to be kept in pais, they can die of loneliness

  9. Yes, they can have play dates together but you wouldn't want to keep them in the same cage because they have different dietary needs and because the rabbit could overpower the guinea pig and scare it and put it into shock.  They can be great friends though.

  10. yes actually mine were both guinea pig and rabbit were. just one hazarred to look out for. the rabbits back legs are very power full and their bets weapon. if the guineapig annoys the bunny or just starts to fioght the rabbit can kick it's bak legs and snap the guinea pigs neck so look out for that. just watch when their together

  11. Certainly a rabbit and a guinea pig can be friends.  I had a rabbit and a guinea pig in the same cage for quite a while.

On cold nights they cuddled up.

  12. It depends on the breed of rabbit i know for sure that dwarf rabbit and guinea pigs can easily get along but im pretty sure that certain breeds of rabbits or guniea pigs can get aggresive with each other.

    :)

  13. 95% of the comments left for you are from the guinea pig sites i've read.belong to,etc etc. And as they are excellent and correct advice, and should be headed, I do think given your situation would be harmless while they are young. Make sure they will not fight, and ALWAYS supervise them at all times. As they get older, you may want to consider quitting the friendship, unless you've had perfect luck. Everytime your GP will be with your friends rabbit, you are risking it's life, and that should never be forgotten. Those back legs are powerful killing machines on a rabbit.

  14. No, putting rabbits and guinea pigs together is NEVER a good idea, and there are many reasons.

Firstly, their dietary needs are not the same. Guinea pigs cannot thrive on rabbit feed, and rabbits cannot thrive on guinea pig feed. The nutrition would never be good enough for either of them, and attempting to feed them both is just not practical. They won't know which is for them! They do both eat vegetables, but you'd either be giving your guinea pig not enough Vitamin C, or giving the rabbit too much. It's just too much of a risk to their health.

Also, I understand your rabbit is smaller than the guinea pig, but his kick is still MUCH stronger than what a guinea pig could handle. If he accidentally was startled and kicked out, his extremely powerful hind feet that he needs for movement can kill the guinea pig, or at least seriously injure her. I know he might not mean too, but there are plenty of documented accidents with rabbits and guinea pigs.

Your guinea pig would be SO much happier with a guinea pig of the same gender! Check out Petfinder.com to see if any guinea pigs near you are in need of a new home!

  15. NO WAY! Rabbits have very strong back legs. Even if your rabbit never got aggressive, it could accidently kick your guinea pig. A kick from a rabbit could seriously injure or even kill your pig.

Their dietary needs are very different. In fact rabbit food contains a mild antibiotic that is toxic to guinea pigs.

There are also some diseases that can be passed between these animals. They shoud NEVER be housed together.

  16. Guinea pigs and bunnies are not good together.

Rabbits and cavies make good companions

    FALSE

Rabbits and guinea pigs must never be mixed. A single kick from a rabbit, whether accidental or not, can seriously injure or even kill a cavy. Even a dwarf rabbit can cause serious harm to a guinea pig.

Rabbits and cavies also have different nutritional requirements. Guineas cannot manufacture their own Vitamin C and need plain pellets containing this vitamin as well as regular fresh veggies. Rabbits do not need the extra vitamins in their dry food as they can create their own Vitmain C.

By feeding just rabbit pellets, the cavy misses out on essential nutrients. By only feeding pellets designed for cavies, the rabbit misses out on the nutrients required to maintain their health. It is virtually impossible to keep rabbits and cavies together because of this reason alone.

Rabbits also carry certain organisms which can be passed onto the guinea pig, potentially causing life-threatening symptoms. While the organisms may not be so harmful to the rabbit, it can prove fatal to a different species of animal.
